About Cedar Lodge

Where we are

Three miles west of Chester, where Highway 36 meets Highway 89, at the north end of Lake Almanor. The Warner Valley and Juniper Lake entrances into Lassen Volcanic National Park go in from our side of town. The lake is open to trout fishing all year. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses Highway 36 about eight miles away, and a named cycling route starts at the bakery next door.

Two things before you book. Highway 36 runs past us and the airport is close, so this is a roadside property, not a silent one. The 2021 Dixie Fire came through this valley, and you will see standing burned trees on the ridge behind us.

The room we stayed in is new and had new appliances. We had a kitchenette- better for take-out warming and prepared food, not for cooking. It was cozy for 2 people but functional. Nice cafes and supermarket in town. 40 minutes to Lassen National Park. Good for a short stay.

Cedar Lodge was clean and comfortable. Although it was remote it felt very safe. It was near the highway but still quiet enough to sleep well. The bed was comfortable and the selection of pillows was outstanding. The kitchen was great! Television and living area was convenient and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we are in the area.

Quality accommodations, quiet and close enough to town. This area is still recovering from massive wildfires but this place is a little oasis just outside of town and close enough to some pretty cool stuff. I would definitely recommend a stay again

Such a cute cozy place! Everything was what we expected and very close to the lake and restaurants! If you are going when it is warmer, the lake is a great place to hang out until it cools off in the night time. Once you get back to the room at night, opening the windows allows that nice cool breeze into the room for a great nights rest.
